Julie's MigrainesMine started at forty. 5 years ago. I am told this is sort of unusual. Terrible throbbing pain behind my right eye with nausea and vomiting. I thought I had a virus the first time it happened but it happened every Saturday. Lasted the week end. Was okay Monday morning in time for work. I had the test-MRI and Cat Scans. Normal. I am on 3 preventative medications. Topamax, Depakote & Verapamil. I currently take Relpax during an attack. My migraines now are down to once a month but are very severe and still last 2-3 days. Better than every week. Weather seems to be a trigger for me. Other than that, I can not seem to figure out any others. They do always happen at the same time of the month. They are not hormonal since I had my ovaries removed 20 years ago. I do take HRT but my doctor said my levels are constant so this isn't an issue. I read everything I can and hope I will find something that might help. I wake up in the middle of full blow attacks when abortative meds don't help. My last visit at the doctors, he told me to try 3mg of Melontin at bedtime. A study was done and this help with this problem. I'll keep you posted.... |
