Loreen's Story - Classic Migraine with Aura

My name is Loreen. I have been suffering with migraines since I was 15 years old.

One morning I was sitting in bed and all of a sudden I couldn't feel my arm it was really numb. That lasted for about 10 minutes then I had flashing lights of zig zags moving really fast and in both corners of my eyes. Before I knew it the flashing lights went right across my eyes then all I could see was all these zig zags which where flashing lights. The lights lasted for a good 10 minutes then I had really bad pains in my stomach. My eyes were very sensitive to the light i couldn't stand any noise and I felt very sick. Within 25 minutes I had a very bad migraine headache on the right side of my head which lasted for a week.

Today I still suffer with migraines. I know when I am going to get a migraine a week before. I have all these little lights in front of my eyes, they are like shooting stars, they only last about 10 seconds then they go away then in a week I get my migraine. At the moment I am taking zomig 2.5mg to stop the flashing lights in my eyes they are very good I also take deptran 30mg which is an anti depressant pill. I have been suffering from depression all my life. My doctor has told me since my migraines are from my depression and for my migraine headaches I have tried paracetamol but nothing seems to work for the pain. every time I get the flashing lights from a migraine in my eyes I cry. It scares me when I can't see anything. Today I am still looking for a cure.

I would give anything to get rid of my bad migraines and live a normal life. I don't leave my house to go out unless i really have to because I am very scared I am going to get the flashing zig zag lights in my eyes cause once I get them I can't see anything they really scare me.
